Dave Warren

Dave composes for film, TV, commercials, and games.

He has produced compositions for ABC television affiliate KGTV, where he was contracted to score a news theme and promotional music, as well as for other broadcast stations including Minnesota Public television.

Currently he is obtaining his masters degree in Film Scoring from the Berklee College of Music. He previously studied within the UCLA Extension Film Scoring Program, with focus on composition and instrumentation.

As a performer, Dave plays both guitar and piano. In the southern California area he has served both as band leader and supporting musician in groups of many styles – jazz, funk, acoustic, and cover groups.

Warren’s first solo release, Funplay, was featured on KSDS Jazz 88, where he was the station’s featured artist in 2002.

Dave studies with Peter Sprague and conductor and musical director Kenneth Bell of the Pacific Coast Concert Band.

Dave is also an accomplished broadcast designer and filmmaker, and received an Emmy nomination for his work at KGTV-ABC.

Scoring for picture is not dictating what the viewer needs to feel, rather it is the process of intensifying and encouraging what the viewer is already feeling. - dw
